Marlin was born in Alberta and has called Edmonton home for many years. He has proudly served as the MLA for Edmonton-Gold Bar since 2015, and now also serves as the NDP Critic for Environment.
Marlin is an advocate for the essential services that Edmonton-Gold Bar counts on and is passionate about protecting public services for all Albertans.
During his time as Minister of Advanced Education, Marlin took concrete action to make life more affordable for students in both K-12 and post-secondary. He froze tuitions and passed legislation to modernize Alberta’s post-secondary system.
Marlin’s career experience makes him a great fit for Critic for Environment. He worked in site remediation and hydrogeology, including seven years with Alberta Environment as a soil and groundwater contamination specialist.
Marlin has a Masters applied Environmental Geoscience and a Bachelor of Science degree.
